Jail & Prison Ministry Seminar
*Interested in getting involved in Jail/Prison Ministry?
*Interested in being a mentor/Disciple maker to those coming back into society after their incarceration?
*As a Church/individual, do you wonder what our responsibility is to help those incarcerated or coming back out into the free world?
*How does the criminal mind operate?
*Why should I help a criminal?
These questions and much more will be covered at this training.
astor Brian Cole, Senior Pastor of the Oaks Church in Drummond, and Director of Recovery Outreach at Crossroads Outreach Center has spent 27 years of his life incarcerated. For the last 5 years, he has been involved with jail/prison ministry and is part of the Good News Jail and Prison Ministry, Chuck Colson's Prison Fellowship, and Faith Riders Motorcycle Ministry Prison outreach. He has a passion for Jesus' command for us to take care of those behind bars. He knows the value of Christ followers coming alongside him as he came back into the community!
Please come to this training and we will be covering areas such as: What does God command as far as taking care of those behind bars? How an inmates release is just the beginning. How to help inmates who are released: what to do and what not to do. The risk of loving. What can the Church do? Ministering in jails and prisons. How to be a volunteer. As well as much, much more. There will also be a question answer time.
THERE IS A GREAT NEED FOR JAIL/PRISON VOLUNTEERS AND MENTORS TO COME ALONGSIDE THESE PEOPLE WHEN THEY ARE RELEASED.
Almond Tree Training Seminar
Pamela Russell wrote and produced the biblical substance abuse counseling training materials known as Almond Tree, and she has conducted training seminars around the world for several years.
Almond Tree materials have been widely accepted as excellent materials to use with individuals who are chained in the grasp of drug or alcohol addiction. It will equip you to become a counselor and to work with addicts whether or not you put them through the Almond Tree Program.
Even if you don’t wish to use the Almond Tree materials, but you wish to work with addicts and/or counsel them, this training will be highly valuable and worth the time.
Pastor Brian Cole of the Oaks Church and Director of the Recovery Outreach at Crossroads Outreach and his wife Marsha Cole have had many years of experience as drug addicts. Pastor Brian was born again in 2009 while going through the Almond Tree program in a County Jail. Both him and his wife have been counseling addicts one-on-one through this program for the last 5 years and will be presenting their experience on both ends after each of the session DVD’s.
