Helping inmates tell their story...

The Pen Project is a quarterly art magazine that gives voice to the incarcerated, and gives them opportunities to share the Gospel through faith, art and purpose. Our goal is to make this magazine available to each of the 2.2 million incarcerated men, women and children throughout the United States.

The Pen Project continues to be successful because of the incredible dedication and individual commitment to follow Jesus and let Him work through us. Our team consists of individuals inside and outside of prison working together to co-write each issue.

Content

Each week we receive several submissions from inmates across the country. We continue to be impressed by the creative abilities of those submitting to this magazine. Below are some examples of content submissions - many of which are already in print.

Impact

Through The Pen Project not only can we use our voices again, but we can find healing, we can help, we can share, we can listen, we can pray for mended lives, and ultimately we can find freedom through Christ.  God Bless.

The Pen Project has shown me that nothing is impossible with God giving me great hope for my future after release.

The magazine and the love that radiates from 513FREE is contagious. It has given many a new focus, a deeper hope, a role of responsibility and a bolder passion to make a difference. If it wasn’t for The Pen Project and the relentless work of 513FREE many gifts, talents, and abilities would still be unfound and unemployed.
